EXISTENCE
"I never planned to become an artist. I had no intention to paint, yet painting began to happen." Spanning over a decade, this rare showcase reveals symbolic, raw, and intuitive works that reflect a deeply personal and transformative journey. Each piece speaks to a world beyond words where nothing is planned, yet everything connects. EXISTENCE is the first major solo exhibition of Myo Thuzar, a self-taught abstract artist from Aungban, Southern Shan State. Painting without sketches or formal training, her works emerge instinctively guided by unseen energies, emotion, and spiritual rhythm. Myo Thuzar was born in 1975 in downtown Yangon and relocated to Aungban, Southern Shan State, in 2022, where she currently lives and works. Her unique artistic journey started in April 2014. In the early phase, she mostly painted ancient symbols, unknown scripts, words, and letters. She paints wherever and with whatever materials are around, without planning or personal intention, simply following the path guided by unseen forces. Myo Thuzar sees herself as a medium, guided by unseen forces. Her brush flows from emotion, not thought, creating spontaneous symbols and forms that echo ancient rhythms and cosmic memory. She paints to express, inviting us to sense a world beyond our visible universe.
